A New Minivan Era Begins: Exploring the 2027 Chrysler Pacifica
April 08 2026,
The minivan segment has a new benchmark. Chrysler refreshes the Pacifica for 2027 with a bold new front fascia, vertical LED headlamps, and an illuminated grille signature the brand calls "piano keys." This is the first visual expression of Chrysler's next design language, arriving on the vehicle that invented the minivan category 43 years ago. More than 16.6 million Chrysler minivans have been sold since then, including over 1.15 million Pacifica models.
The 2027 Pacifica lineup includes four trims: Select, Limited, Pinnacle, and Plug-in Hybrid. All are built in Windsor, Ontario, and feature the segment-exclusive Stow 'n Go seating system that folds the second and third rows flat into the floor. This year's refresh brings new safety technology, flexible entertainment and connectivity packages, and an exclusive Blue Agave interior on the Pinnacle. Orders are open now, with vehicles arriving at Canadian dealerships this summer.
Key Specs and Features
The 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 powers Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims, delivering 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque through a nine-speed automatic. The Plug-in Hybrid uses the same V-6 with a CVT and 19.2 kWh battery, rated at up to 51 km electric range and rechargeable in 2 hours at 240VAC.
The Select FWD returns 12.4 L/100 km city and 8.4 L/100 km highway. AWD increases consumption to 14.1 L/100 km city and 9.4 L/100 km highway. The Plug-in Hybrid achieves 8 L/100 km city and 7.9 L/100 km highway once the battery depletes, with electric-only capability for short commutes.
AWD is available on Select and Limited, standard on Pinnacle. The system sends 100% of torque to the rear wheels or wheels with most grip, disconnecting when not needed to improve efficiency. Pacifica is the only minivan offering AWD with second-row Stow 'n Go seating.
The Stow 'n Go system remains the Pacifica's defining feature. Both rows fold flat into the floor in seconds, creating 3,964 litres of cargo space. When deployed, under-floor bins provide additional storage. No other minivan offers this interior flexibility.
For families who tow, the Trailer Tow Group delivers competitive 3,600 lb (1,632 kg) capacity when properly equipped, including trailer-sway damping and heavy-duty radiator.
What Sets It Apart
The 2027 Pacifica introduces several features separating it from competitors. The most visible change is the front fascia with vertical LED headlamps and illuminated grille featuring "piano key" accents. On Limited and Pinnacle, the Pacifica "wakes up" with a welcome animation: centre lamp, signature lights, and Chrysler wing badge illuminate in sequence. The new projector headlamps provide 17% improved maximum reach.
The Pinnacle debuts an exclusive Blue Agave Nappa leather interior with Parquet perforation pattern, Sol Stopper copper accent stitching, and Tungsten Patina piping. Copper Alloy accents replace traditional chrome. The Pinnacle includes the Ultra Console, a dual-level storage unit with large pass-through underneath.
Safety technology receives meaningful upgrades. The Enhanced Safety Sphere Package - optional on Select and Limited, standard on Pinnacle - adds Turn Signal-activated Blind-spot View, displaying live camera feed on the centre touchscreen when the turn signal engages, and ParkSense-based Camera Activation, automatically triggering appropriate camera views when sensors detect objects. These join comprehensive carryover systems including 360-degree surround view camera and front/rear park assist with stop.
Standard on all trims, the adjustable-height power liftgate allows customers to set opening height to avoid low-clearance obstacles like garage ceilings or parking decks.
The 2027 Pacifica debuts a more flexible tech strategy. The Uconnect Theatre Group and Family Tech Group are now decoupled, allowing families to choose features that matter most - Amazon Fire TV built-in, FamCAM interior camera, premium audio, additional power outlets, or second- and third-row features - without bundled packages. This lowers entry points and gives buyers configuration control.
The Pacifica Remains the Minivan Benchmark
The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica builds on 43 years of minivan leadership with refreshed design, new safety technology, and segment-exclusive Stow 'n Go versatility. The new front fascia signals the next era of Chrysler design, and decoupled tech packages give families configuration control. The Pinnacle's Blue Agave interior sets new premium standards, and the Enhanced Safety Sphere Package delivers driver-assistance features previously reserved for luxury sedans.
